A 49-year-old man from Sandy and a 43-year-old woman from Salt Lake were found safe yesterday after being lost overnight near Deseret Peak.
Bruce Laden and Kathy Kierman were hiking Tuesday in the Stansbury Mountains when they lost the trail in an area that had been burned by wildfires.
According to the Tooele County Sheriff's Office, by morning the couple was able to get service on their cell phone and called for help. A Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter located the couple, and their two dogs, and carried them down the mountain.
