The Buffs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a walk to Matt Medina and consecutive hits from Derick Anderson and Matt Gochis to score Medina and Anderson.
Murray tied it after one complete inning, but Tooele raced ahead with one run in the second and six more in the third to open a big lead.
Cody Lopez scored in the second inning and erratic pitching helped Tooele in the third inning. Five Tooele batters walked in the breakaway inning while Medina doubled and Gochis singled. Zac Clausing, Steven Whitkowski, Woolley, Stewart Christensen, Lopez and Medina all scored runs in the third.
Tooele scored three more in the fourth inning on singles from Witkowski, Colton Barksdull and Medina and a pair of errors from the Spartans.
The Buffs' final run came in the fifth when Gochis smacked a solo home run.
Tooele hosts Davis today at 3:30 p.m. and will play a doubleheader against Olympus Saturday with the first game at 11 a.m. Tooele will host Grantsville next Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Games are at Dow James Park.

Judge jumped on the Cowboys for six runs in the first inning and four in the second plus another run in the fifth to post an 11-1 victory.
Grantsville scored its only run in the second inning when Alex Childs doubled home Austin Killpack.
The Cowboys play at Delta today and host Wasatch on Friday with a trip to Tooele for a game on Tuesday.
