Grantsville showed off its depth of talent Tuesday with a relatively easy 4-1 home win against Ogden, a team that usually poses problems for the Cowboys in tennis.

The Cowboys posted victories in second and third singles and wins at first and second doubles.

Ogden ace Parker Rhodes cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Grantsville's top player Logan Paulich, but the remaining four varsity matches belonged to the Cowboys.

No. 2 singles player Jared Nordgran found himself in a difficult battle, but prevailed with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Jordan Hawkins.

George Parkinson, at third singles, cruised in his match with Cade White downing the Ogden player 6-1, 6-1.

Grantsville's first doubles team of Brett Peterson and Casey Williams found themselves in a tight first set winning 7-5, but sailed to victory in the second set 6-1 in a match against Thatcher Allred and Mike Berger.

Grantsville's second doubles team of Trevor Lujan and Jared Knight got off to a fast starting winning 6-0 in their first set against Israel Duarte and Nate Kappel. The second set took a bit longer, but the team prevailed 6-0, 7-5.

Grantsville swept junior varsity competition winning five pro-set matches. Ben Tripp, Dallan Gomez and Kyler Rupp won first, second and third singles, respectively. Dallas Parks teamed with Austin Rowley to win at first doubles with Aaron Vera and Dalan Leonelli winning at second doubles.

Dallin Hardy, Ryan Jensen and Matt Scott won exhibition matches for Grantsville.

The Cowboys' next home match is Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Judge.
