During its last two games the Tooele girls basketball team has supplied nearly as much drama as the Tooele High drama club could produce.

A game last Friday resulted in a one-point decision and the Lady Buffs battled Orem to overtime on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the heartbreak belonged to the home team on both occasions as Tooele lost the one-point game to Mountain View and could not prevail in overtime against the Tigers losing 64-53.

Despite the losses, the last two games were probably the strongest games for Tooele this year as they still look to win a game in Region 7.

"Our game plan worked well tonight and we were able to get the ball inside and score," said coach Karie Frederickson after the game Tuesday. "But we died in the overtime. It was a tight game throughout until then."

Orem outscored the home team 13-4 in the extra period.

Tooele's post players Alexis and Corinne Bird were flying high on Tuesday combining for 16 field goals and 36 points with Corinne hitting four of five foul shots. Lauren Lescanec turned in a strong second half scoring eight of her 10 points after intermission.

Corinne also led her team in rebounding with 12 boards while her sister gathered in six rebounds. Sophomore guard Mattie Snow was able to find the inside Bird sisters with sweet passes and recorded five assists while Nigh added three assists.
