Grantsville got punished with a brutal air attack from Logan's Jeff Manning right from the get go and didn't end until the second half as the visiting Grizzlies walked away with a 35-0 win.

Travis Thompson rushed hard for 31 yards on 10 carries and Alex Childs added 18 yards of his own but it was no match for Manning's four first-half touchdowns.

After Manning tossed a pass to his running back KC Taylor for a 27 yard touchdown Grantsville came out with an impressive drive.

Down 7-0 Grantsville had clutch third down runs from Logan Paulich and Travis Thompson to keep drives alive but a holding penalty which was initially declined by Logan was later accepted and stalled the Cowboy drive.

In the middle of the second quarter Thompson had another big run of nine yards but the drive once again stalled thanks to the stingy defense of Logan which now had a 21-0 lead.

Heading into the locker room at half down 28-0 Grantsville coach Tony Cloward wanted his team to come out with a different mentality.

"I wish I could get these guys to loosen up from the beginning of the game like they did in the second half," Cloward said.

That's exactly what the embattled Cowboy defense did as they were able to get their hands on a number of Logan passes and put up more of a fight.

Unfortunately Logan's defense did not lighten up either as they kept Grantsville off the scoreboard all night in the shutout victory while the offense added a second half touchdown to go up 35-0.

"We are a young team that will only get better as time goes on," Cloward said.

Grantsville 1-5 (0-1) will travel to Tremonton this Friday to face Bear River 1-5 (1-0) at 7 p.m.
