Tooele also won its bracket at the St. George High School Tennis Invitational Sept. 7-8. The Buffs defeated Manti High 3-2 and rival Lehi 5-0 at the tournament. Manti featured a strong player at No.1 singles along with a top doubles team at No.1 doubles. Manti's Lindsay Mower defeated Paige Dimond 6-2, 6-0. And the Templars' tandem of Stephanie Barton and Taylor Rosequist defeated Tooele's Richelle Johnson and Amanda Bento 6-0, 6-3. Tooele, however, one three matches to prevail as a team. Brooke Lund defeated Rachel Mitzvoth at No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-4 and Tooele No.2 doubles team of Lacey Dimond and Heather Hollien downed Jen Johnson and Meg Jenkins 6-1, 6-2.

Against Lehi Paige Dimond split sets with Jessica Rowley and prevailed in a tiebreaker. Lund and Harris breezed to victories at No.2 and No.3 singles. Tooele earned victories in two tight doubles matches. Richelle Johnson and Amanda Bento earned a first doubles victory 6-4, 6-2 while Heather Hollien and Lacey Dimond won at No.2 doubles 6-4, 7-5.

Tooele High coach Derek Smith said he was pleased with the sweep of Lehi in St. George. "It's always been back and forth with them. It's turned into a bit of a rivalry. We have five solid seniors on this team and we should have a good year. Our program is getting stronger each year," Smith said.
