Our dear husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend, Max Alma Boswell, passed away Dec. 20, 2008, in Tooele, surrounded by his family. Max was born in Nephi, Utah, on Sept. 22, 1919, to Alma Sylvester and Celia Ellen “Nellie” Cartwright Boswell. He grew up in Eureka, Utah. Dad had to start working at an early age. He first started delivering milk on a milk truck, until he had to go to work at the CC camps. He also worked in the mines around Eureka. Eventually he moved to Tooele where he gave 33 years of service to the Tooele Army Depot. He married Lois Hansen Nov. 25, 1941, they later divorced. He then married Marjorie Warenski March 16, 1968. Together they had nine children. Max is survived by his wife, Marjorie; daughters, Maxine (Bill) Jacobs, Deeanna Wilkes, Charlotte (Paul) Gourley, Wanda (Wesley) Payne; sons, Butch (LuRae) Burr, Roger Warenski, son-in-law Dewey Sorenson, brother-in-law Vince Jones, 22 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughters Judy Sorenson, Leeanna Freeman, Sherrie Burr; sons-in-law, Ken Price, Jim Wilkes; granddaughters Tira Jean, Serenity; great-grandson, Weston Lee Payne; brothers Ned Boswell, Elmo Boswell; and sister, Margaret Jones. Dad belonged to: Tooele Eagles, Tooele Travelers and Tooele Moose Lodge for years. He was also a member of the LDS Church in the Tooele 2nd Ward. Dad loved to go fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling with his family. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the Tooele City Cemetery. A visitation will be prior to service from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St., Tooele. Dad you were a very special angel to us and we will miss you ‘till we meet again.
