The Tooele baseball team defeated Highland 7-5 on Wednesday. Tooele trailed 5-3 heading into the sixth, but they scored three in the sixth and one in the seventh to post the victory. Skyler Holt was the winning pitcher with Colton Burr smacking a home run. Devin Park also pounded a double. Tooele will host Murray on Friday and play at Stansbury on Tuesday.
Stansbury baseball
The Stallions dropped a pair of games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Stansbury lost 2-0 to Timpanogas on Tuesday and were clipped 15-14 by Hillcrest on Wednesday. Clint Petersen, Colton Barkdull and Jake Witkowski all recored extra-base hits in the 32-hit slugfest with the Huskies. The Stallions will play at Olympus today and host Tooele on Tuesday.
Grantsville baseball
The Cowboys whipped the Judge Bulldogs 11-4 in baseball action on Wednesday. Details of the game were unavailable at press time. The Cowboys play at Bear River today and travel to Morgan on Tuesday.

Jiu-Jitsu classes
The Tooele High School wrestling team will sponsor kids and teens Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes as a fundraiser to send wrestlers to Fargo, N.D. to participate in the Greco and freestyle nationals this summer. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for boys and girls ages 6-18 will be offered in Tooele. Classes will be held twice per week for 10 weeks starting on April 21 and April 23. Cost is $50 per person. THS softball clinic
Tooele High School’s second annual softball clinic will be held April 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Clinic participants will receive instruction on hitting, pitching, fielding and base running. Wide Open Wednesdays
Miller Motorsports Park’s popular “Wide-Open Wednesdays” program kicked off for the 2010 season on Wednesday. This program allows fans to take advantage of both warm summer evenings and America’s finest road racing facility on the second Wednesday of each month from April through October and offers fans unprecedented access to the facility’s variety of racing venues. The program is designed to allow fans to come out to the track after work and spend a few hours satisfying their need for speed at very inexpensive prices. The main track will be open for three hours for fans to drive their street cars for $25. The track will be configured into a high-speed gymkhana, with traffic cone “chicanes” set up to keep speeds to a safe level, and cars will run one at a time. For those who always wondered what it would be like to take their car on a real racetrack, this is a very unique opportunity.
