LaRue Wright Oliver passed away peacefully February 23, 2010 at the age of 84. She was born September 27, 1925, in Hiawatha, Carbon County, Utah to Ervin E Wright and Clara Lucille Stevens. LaRue was the third of four children.

She married Sheldon W. Oliver, July 2, 1944; they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 10, 1950. He passed away September 20, 2002. LaRue had fond memories of her childhood in the Carbon County area. She enjoyed spending time with her grandparents on their farm and with her father in the outdoors including many summer trips to Fish Lake.

LaRue met and married her sweetheart in Price, Utah and made homes in Provo and Salt Lake City prior to moving to Logan, Utah in 1962. She was a loving, caring and compassionate mother whose greatest joy was found in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, handwork and spending time with her family. In their later years she and Sheldon enjoyed traveling and visiting new areas together.

LaRue was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in Relief Society, Young Women and Primary throughout her life. She and Sheldon served a mission together to Birmingham, Ala. She was happiest while serving others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother Max Wright. She is survived by her children: Harold (Colleen), Phyllis Horner (Donald), Klare (Petronella), Colleen Ward (Duane), Roland (Becky), Brian (Judy); 35 grandchildren and 96 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Norma Rasmussen and Carol Beacco.

The family wishes to thank those who supported LaRue in her later years, especially the staff at The Beehive Homes and Legacy House Care Centers. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley at 1007 W. South Jordan Park Way (10600 So.), South Jordan, Utah. The family will receive friends and family for a viewing from 9-10:30 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the South Jordan Cemetery.
