The Cowboys started out strong in the first game playing as a team, but as the match progressed they couldn’t get or stay ahead.
Grantsville coach Heidi Heath said it’s hard because her team is so young.
“Where we’re a young team it’s hard not to become intimidated by the other team,” she said.
She said intimidation was one of the main reasons Grantsville lost the match.
“Intimidation is a huge factor for us,” she said. “If the girls would not get intimidated and continue with their momentum we would have done a lot better.”
Heath said although they lost, everyone played well.
“We were pretty consistent,” she said. “We just didn’t play aggressive enough.”
She acknowledged senior Jillianne Harris’ sets as a help in the game.
“As a first-year setter for varsity Jillianne is doing an incredible job,” she said.
The Cowboys’ next game is tonight against the Trojans in Morgan.
