I feel I need to briefly state my dissatisfaction with Tooele’s laws on handling dog barking in residential neighborhoods. There are about seven dogs that live in close proximity to our house. They bark occasionally and that is okay with me. There is one dog, however, that howls incessantly at various times of the day. I reported this, of course, and was told that a warning would be given to the owner, but that I needed to keep a “bark log” detailing the type of bark, times of bark, and what I was doing at the time. This is an annoying process to have to go through, but I did it fully believing that it would solve the problem. Boy was I wrong. I am now keeping my third “bark log” on this same dog. I am annoyed, frustrated and ready to move. Dogs are great things to have, but since when did animal rights become more important than human rights? Lynne Hathaway Tooele |
