A local acting student, Laurynn Smith, has been selected to attend the iPoP convention this June in Las Vegas for 2008. iPoP is the International Presentation of Performers held twice a year, in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. It is a prestigious honor to have been selected and is a tremendous opportunity to meet and audition for some of the most respected entertainment professionals in the industry. In order to attend iPoP you are hand-selected to audition. Laurynn auditioned and received a call-back to attend this major event. Laurynn has been attending John Robert Powers (JRP) school located in Salt Lake City. JRP helps develop natural talent for many facets of the entertainment industry such as acting, singing, modeling and dancing.
Many entertainment industry professional, both from the United States and abroad, attend the event, including casting directors, producers, record companies and modeling agencies. There are between 100 and 200 agencies represented at the iPoP events searching and ready to sign new talent.
Laurynn has been in enrolled with several dance studios since the age of 4, competing in performances and judged competitions. Her drive, determination and love for acting, singing and dancing is phenomenal and is why she has been given this amazing opportunity.
To further prepare her for this life changing event she will go into an intense 12-week one-on-one training with coaches from Los Angeles along with other industry professionals.
Laurynn is the daughter of Chris and Jennifer Smith of Tooele. Her parents have instilled in her that honesty, integrity and ethics are not just a vital role in any career path you take, but in life itself. With those key elements, along with effort and determination, you can achieve anything you dream.
