Josh Clements has successfully completed the work for his eagle scout, which is the highest rank a young man can receive in Boy Scouts. Josh's eagle project was a blood drive in honor of Sandra Beaumont and Fritz Schmidt, Josh's uncle, who passed away last year. The blood drive was a huge success with 47 pints of blood collected. Josh has been in scouting since he was 8 years old. In his 10 years of scouting, Josh has been on many camping trips, and participated in many activities and service projects. Josh was able to attend the National Jamboree in 2005 that started in Boston, Mass., and ended in Fort AP Hill, Va., with 38,000 other boys from around the world. This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for most boys. Josh was elected to become a member of the Order of the Arrow, which is Scouting's National Honor Society. He has advanced from Ordeal to Brotherhood to Vigil in four years. He has just been elected chief of the ELKUTA lodge and has direction over a thousand young men in the Great Salt Lake Council. Josh is an outstanding young man and a leader among the youth. Josh's other interests are sports. He played football and basketball for Dixie High in St. George, and he loves to bowl. Josh also enjoys hunting and fishing. He plans to go on a mission for the LDS church after graduation this coming summer from Tooele High. Josh is the son of Jonie Clements. The Court of Honor will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m., at the LDS church on 180 S. Coleman. Friends are invited.
