Hoary cress invading Erda   PrintPrint  E-mail Story

I was interested in the weed control article in the Tuesday, March 4, edition of the paper (“Weed supervisor declaring war on invasive enemies”). The invasive growth of hoary cress (white top) in the Erda area just seems to have no bounds. I encourage the board to take a proactive stance by contacting the land owners in Erda and suggesting they allow spraying of this dangerous weed. It is out of control now and has got to be stopped before it ruins most of the farm land in the area. Because of its deep root system and prolific seed production, it is not going to be controlled in one season, and so far I have not seen any effort to bring it under control. It will smother out all beneficial plants if given the chance. Let’s not let that happen.
