Five different courses, five region matches and five Region 7 girls golf teams all looking up in the standings at Tooele's name all season as the Buffaloes captured the Region 7 crown.

That is one way to describe the Buffs blitz through the regular season and now the lady golfers all have their eyes set to a much bigger prize, a state championship.

Starting out with an 18-stroke victory at Overlake Golf Course was just a glimpse of things to come.

Earning herself individual honors for the region and leading her team by example and with her scores, Sadie Palmer individually won all five matches but winning the team matches took a lot of teamwork.

Taylor Harris was able to record her first four scores of the season with her best nine holes being a 60 at Cascade Golf Center in Orem

Both coming with three scores a piece was Mallory Peterson and Meredith Nigh as both players came on strong at the end of the season.

Jacque Trujillo really helped out the Buffs' cause by registering her first two scores of the season at the first matches with her best being a 53 at Overlake.

Christine Lawless, Chelsea McCoy and Kaitlyn Dahl also snuck in to record one score a piece to round out the team effort.

When it came to team matches Tooele could win either way. By a huge blowout, like wins at Overlake, East Bay in Provo and Hobble Creek in Springville. Or they could sweat out close matches, that were usually made close by the region's second-place team, Orem. At Cascade and Gladston where Tooele won by six and seven stroke respectively over the Tigers both times.

No matter what it took to win the region title, the Tooele girls got the job done and will now be a top contender in the state championship next week.

The state tournament will be played in Kaysville at Davis Park Golf Course on May 13.
