The Grantsville soccer team battled the top team in 3A Friday losing 1-0 to Logan n Grantsville.

"It was a great game for us, the kids were just outstanding. It was a total team effort," said coach Chris Holley.

The Cowboys play today at Ben Lomond and host Morgan on Friday. Fortunately five of the six teams in Region 11 qualify for a playoff game.

"With a win at Ben Lomond and a win against Morgan we should make the playoffs," the coach said.

Grantsville is led by goalkeeper Steven Sharpe and goal scorers Jackson Kelly and Galana Eschete.

The Cowboys' last five region matches have been tight, but they could not pick up a victory in any of them. They tied Ben Lomond and Bear RIver while losing one-goal matches to Morgan and Logan with a two-goal match to Ogden.
