Charismatic Edwin P. Morrow Goble, 88, beloved husband, father and grandfather of Kaysville, passed into the light Monday night March 31, 2008 in Clearfield.

He was born in Davella, Ky., on Nov. 6, 1919, to Frank and Maggie Goble. Ed was 1939 valedictorian in Inez High School, receiving two scholarship offers he was too shy to accept. On Feb. 9, 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force. Sergeant Goble served during WW II in England, North Africa and Italy. In 1945, Ed married lovely Rowene Bird. After settling in Idaho Falls, Idaho, he studied mathematics, did taxes, joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a partnership with Aluminum Sales and Service that he promptly expanded to Boise, Idaho. Always one to do what he loved, Ed bought Starlite Lanes in Blackfoot, Idaho, and soon he became a contractor and architect in Blackfoot. Ed's surviving children reflect their father's interests: Carol E. Ereckson of Stansbury Park writes, Dr. E. Marlowe Goble of Logan in sports, Douglas Goble of Palisades, Idaho, as outdoors man, and Dr. Deserae Goble of Logan sings.

Preceding Ed in death were his parents; siblings, Earnest Goble from Jackson, Mich., Edna Goble, Exie Jude, Lake Goble, Oscal Goble and Okla Blackburn from Davekka, Ky., Zella Hartman from Oregon, Olva Clickenger from Columbus, Ohio; and grandchildren, Jason B.
