Belly dance workshop
Belly basics 101, featuring Shahravar, is a progressive and ongoing belly dance class held on the last Tuesday of each month starting April 29, from 7 to 9 p.m., at 635 N. Main St., Tooele (in the Phil's Glass building). We work on posture, as well as Egyptian and Turkish steps and combinations. Fee is $15 to register. Your Marriage Firmly Planted
USU Extension and the Tooele County Healthy Marriages Coalition is sponsoring a spring event titled "Keeping Your Marriage Firmly Planted." Each couple will receive lasagna dinner, over $50 worth of marriage enrichment materials and a tree to plant at their own home. The event will be held Friday, April 25, at 6 p.m., at 151 N. Main St. Cost per couple is $10. Please RSVP and pre-pay to USU Extension (277-2400) by April 18.
Financial management
USU Extension Service is offering IDA financial management classes to help multiply your saving efforts. For every $1 you save, another $3 is matched through Individual Development Accounts (IDA). In order to qualify for the program, you must be income eligible. To check eligibility go to www.uidan.org or call 277-2406. Participants must attend three financial education classes. Caregiver Guide classes
The U-Care Caregiver Guide classes are available to help provide hands-on training to better care for loved one with home safety. A class about home safety will be held on Tuesday, April 15, at 7 p.m., at the Tooele Senior Citizens Center, 59 E. Vine St. Light refreshments will be served. Walk-a-Thon
Preeclampsia (toxemia) is a life-threatening disorder of pregnancy that can affect the mother and the baby. The Preeclampsia Foundation is taking steps to raise awareness and so can you. Please join us on May 10 for a two-mile walk and a one-mile fun walk at Tooele Veterans Memorial Park. Gardening expo
The Tooele Advanced Master Gardeners will present their Spring Garden Expo, April 19 in Tooele at the Extension Service Building, 151 N. Main at 10 a.m. Special guest speaker will be Kristofer Sagers, Jordan River Conservation Park Gardener. Special classes will be with the guest speaker at 1 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Democrats breakfast
The Tooele County Democrats are starting up their monthly no-host breakfast get-together on Saturday, April 19, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at Dimitri's Cafe, 76 W. Vine St., Tooele. 4th of July events

Benefit concert
A benefit concert for Riley Lloyd Van Fundraiser, sponsered by the Tooele Valley Rotary Club. On April 19, 7 p.m. at the Tooele Senior Citizens Center. The Preston Lloyd Swing Band will be providing the music. Ticket cost is $5 per person or $10 per family. Come and support a wonderful cause and either listen or dance to great "big band" music.
Movie night
Family movie night at Tooele just assembly, 127 N. Seventh St. on April 11, at 7 p.m. This weeks movie is, "The Never Ending Story." We show only family movies and everyone is welcome. For more information call Carolyn 882-5518.
Hospice care
Learn about Hospice and Palliative care, and find out when it is appropriate to consider Hospice for loved ones. Guest presenter Doctor Benjamin Krogh and Hospice nurses will be on hand. Located at Tooele Junior High at 411 W. Vine St. on April 16, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Utilities
Grantsville City is implementing a new and more efficient utility billing system. The new system will generate a different type of utility bill that will be sent to customers in an envelope starting in April. The old postcard bills will no longer be used. Plant a tree
Grantsville City's buy-one-get-one-free tree sale is here again. To get the free tree, the two trees must be planted on the street in your parking strip at your house or business. Limit of two trees for each home. Deadline for the applications is Friday, April 11. Funds are limited. Trees will be delivered to the city parking lot the morning of April 18, and must be picked up by 5 p.m.

Gift and craft fair
The Rose Springs Elementary Spring Gift and Craft Fair will be held Friday, April 11, from 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come shop for some fabulous gifts by local crafters and vendors, enjoy some wonderful entertainment and enter some hourly drawings. Musical instrument fundraiser
Utah Public Radio and KRCL Radio are partnering with Cache County School District and Cache Education Foundation to bring you REPLAY. Replay is a musical instrument fund-raising campaign to collect useable, used musical instruments for Utah public school children throughout the state. The collection point for donations is Tooele County School District and the drive will run until April 15. Instruments collected in each school district will be designated for use in that district. Cats and dogs game
At the Tooele City Library it rains "Cats and Dogs". See if you can find the one animal that is different from the "Cats" or "Dogs". Get the map of the library and mark where you located the one animal that is different. Then take it to the front desk for a small surprise. This program is for all ages and will run through April 29.
Financial seminar
Adults, attend our free, personal financial seminar of "Track your money: Budget", presented by H & R Block. This seminar will be held April 10, at 6 p.m., in the community room at the Tooele City Library. Sign-up and get your ticket today. Tickets will be available at the check out desk of the Tooele City Library. There is no charge for tickets. If you don't have a ticket, show up any way.

Adult Education
Get your high school diploma this year! All classes required for a high school diploma, adult basic education, GED preparation, word processing, driver's education and English as a second language are available. Register now to graduate -- just $35 per semester. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 a.m. and Monday and Thursday nights from 4 to 8 p.m. The center is located at 76 S. 1000 West, and can be reached at 833-1994. Adult education classes are for students 18 and over.
Hunter Education
A Hunter Education class will be held April 8, 10, 15, 16 and 17, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Tooele County Health Building, 151 N. Main St. All students need to purchase a Hunter Education Voucher from a agent/vendor prior to start of class. For more info contact Gene 882-4767 or Bryan 882-6795.
Charity
Run Against Violence
"Run Against Violence," the DVSAVA Crisis Line's annual 5K run/walk, will be held April 12. There is a $15 registration fee, however, infants and toddlers in strollers are free. To learn more about the race or to register go to www.dvsava.org or the Macey's service desk. All participants will receive a free T-shirt and be entered into a drawing. All proceeds will benefit the DVSAVA crisis line and victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Tooele County.
Fundraiser
A fundraiser is being held to help a family in need on April 18, at the Tooele Armory located at 16 S. First St. Spaghetti dinner will be served for $7 a plate. For more information please call 496-3061.

Attention coaches
If you are planning or would like to use the Tooele School District playgrounds and practice fields for your team's practices/games you will need to go to the office of the school you wish to use and sign-up for times desired and provide proof of liability insurance. You can obtain proof of insurance form your league president.
TC Thunder clinic
TC Thunder is holding its annual softball clinic for girls ages 6-12 on April 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Tooele City Swimming Pool Park (or in case of inclement weather the clinic will be held at the Dow James Complex). The Oquirrh Hills Monday Night Ladies Fun League has scheduled their first meeting, league registration and rules clinic on April 28, at 5:45 p.m. The league fee is $10. League play starts May 5. Robinson Crusoe auditions
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to audition for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of "The Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe" on Monday, April 14, at 4 p.m., in auditorium at THS. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Children must be able to attend all the rehearsals and two performances on Saturday, April 19. Over 50 pieces of art have been chosen from local third graders and Valley Mental Health wants you to help judge a winner. Come to the USU Tooele Campus, 1021 W. Vine St., to vote. Pictures will be on display through April 10. The contest of part of National Mental Health Month in May.

Monte Carlo night
PWSP Bob Kozlowski and SMSP Aletha Wrathall will chair this exciting activity on Saturday, April 12. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and this includes some funny money. Games will be played from 7 to 10 p.m. The auction will follow. Profits will go to the building fund to help with future handicap accesses.
Friday night steaks
The Eagles will serve steak, shrimp, halibut or chicken dinners from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Please come out, enjoy dinners and support your Aerie and Auxiliary.

Vietnam Veterans
There will be an organizational/information meeting of the Tooele County Chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America to be held on April 10, at 7 p.m., in the meeting room of the Utah Pioneer Museum, 35 E. Tooele County Historical Society will have two books available for purchase at our April 8, meeting: The History of Tooele County Volume 2 ($25) and The Mining, Smelting, and Railroading in Tooele ($15). Sewing Guild
Our meeting will be held Wednesday, April 9, at 9:30 a.m., at the Extension Office. We will be making the baby bibs using the towels and appliqués we worked on at our last meeting. Daughters of Pioneers
The Tooele County Chapter of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers would like to thank all the fourth grade students in Tooele City and Vernon that participated in our essay contest. The winners from each school have been selected and we will be contacting the schools. The overall winner will be announced at the Jubilee Celebration, June 7.
